I was born in Cleveland, Ohio from the union of my late father, Johnnie W. Owens and my beautiful mother Minnie L. Owens. I am the sixth out of seven children born out of this marriage. Ruby Redd, the oldest and only girl, and Charlie, the oldest boy, both proceeds me in Heaven. I leave behind to take care of my loving mother, my brothers, Michael, Douglas, Johnnie JR. and Antwon. But most of all my ex-wife/sister Lisa Knight married to John (T.C.) and our daughter LaShante’ Culbreath the very important job of continued care for my loving mother.
I attended Glenville High School and Lincoln West High School but never graduated until the age of 42, because I refused to tell my kids how important an education was if I did not set an example. I worked for Cuyahoga Savings form 1981-1998 and I drove heavy equipment for the City of Cleveland from 1998 until I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on my birthday, October 13, 2016. Along with my full time jobs, I managed to hold down various part time positions too. Valet Parking at Lincoln Garage, US Parking, Tower City/Ritz, Marriott, Wyndham and Hyatt Hotels to name a few. I met many of my true friends at work, hell work is where I spent most of my time, working 18 to 20 hour days. Many of you know me as, Wo, Coach, or just OG. My whole life I have wrote my own story, so I comes to no surprise that I am writing my own obituary.
Lisa Knight and I conceived two children, LaShante’ and Warren Jr. (Boobie). Warren Jr. joined our Father in Heaven in 2001. The hardest day of my life, by far! Tanya Larkins and I conceived one child together, Dwan, my youngest son, who is left with the very difficult task of being the man of the family. While working for the bank I met Lisa Brown in 1998 and we conceived two beautiful girls, ShyAnn and ShayLa, the baby of them all. Lisa Brown and I was married in 2005. I have great faith the Lisa will raise our girls with great strength and power. Others I may speak of, my niece Katrina and Jamara, my other family The Burtons, cousin Sharea, God Daughter Fatima, Dwan sister Danielle, my sons Jeffery and John are also left to look after the girls in the family. My nephew Chris will be on the watch as well. Cy, Shawn, Big Dog Uncle Larry, and last but not least Hoss will all be on 24 hour watch over my little angels, Thank you in advance!
If I tried to name all of the people I hold dear in my heart I would run out of paper. Yesterday, I was only thinking about me, Card parties at my house, cabaret parties, DJ Bowling Parties, and I can’t forget Euclid Creek Picnics, basketball, baseball, volleyball, and horseshoes, just to name a few. I just wanted everyone to have fun. Those of you who really know me, knows I was truly a wild child, from selling and using drugs, but never leaving my children without providing for them. Today, I am not pushing drugs, I am pushing love, love for Jesus.
