Trina Wynella Ford, born on April 4, 1970, in Athens, Georgia, at St. Mary’s Hospital, was the daughter of the late Clarence Ford Sr. and the late Mary M. Ford/Russell. Her grandparents were Mrs. Annie Ford and Mr. Bish Ford, and her parents’ parents were Mrs. Mary Mitchell and Mr. Henry Mitchell. Raised alongside five siblings—Shirley W. Dixon, Clarence Ford Jr., Nicole E. Ford, John H. Ford, and Bobby D. Ford—all of whom migrated from Athens, Georgia, to Cleveland, Ohio, in 1976, Trina attended Cleveland Public Schools and later completed her education at Job Corps.
Throughout her life, Trina dedicated herself to caring for the elderly, working in this field for an impressive 37 years until her unexpected passing. Drawing strength from her experiences, she also extended her care to her loved ones, including her family and friends. Despite having a large family, Trina took on the responsibility of starting her own family at a young age, blessed with five children: Antranese M. Stanford, the late Anthony C. Stanford Jr., Takia C. Stanford, Kevin M. Ford, and Tyra C. Azeez. This family brought another generation into existence, with Trina having a total of nine grandchildren, including one who has passed away. Their names are Destiney, Lauren, Jaryleen, Tamia (R.I.P.), Maelanie, Malayah, Latrell Jr., Julia, and Alayna.
Trina was an independent, strong-willed woman known for her compassion and forgiveness. She was affectionately known as “Trinko” (The Ram, Aries!) Trina may have had disagreements with you, but she loved you unconditionally. She was someone who truly understood, even if her methods were unconventional. Her experiences made her independent and determined to make her own choices. Her primary concerns were to keep her family together and stay in touch with those who were absent. Trina had many nephews and nieces whom she also cherished and kept close. In fact, she was the pillar of strength for this family, with deep ties to everyone who maintained contact with her. Today, we have the opportunity to express our love for her deeply. We also ask that everyone keep the Ford Family in your prayers as we continue to cherish this incredible gift of life.
