Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother
True to her name, she was much like a Rose. A flower constructed of different segments that
made up her unique, and equally vibrant personality.
On one side, she was a free spirit. With a soul that was young, comical, and unapologetically
mischievous beyond appropriate description. Her fondness for life and its simplest
pleasures alone could have been the driving force that kept her steady heart going for so
long. Whether it was from the food she ate, the cute outfits she would wear, the places
she traveled to, the family events and the parties she full heartedly indulged herself into,
or the music she listened and swayed to.
On the other side, she was feisty. Defensive in her cause, and sharp tongued. Determined to
ensure that what her heart desired in that moment would be obtained no matter what it
would take.
In every fiber of her small being. She was ultimately a fighter. A fighter against the hardships
in life and pain that could do nothing to hinder her maternal nature and her persistent and
yet comforting fire that was her unconditional love for the people she brought together
and claimed as a family.
While she was frustrating at times, she was more than just the token old lady, or the subject
to playful teasing. She was the great grandmother. The rose with protruding thorns, the
woman a family would turn the very world for to ensure her happiness, and the object of
strength and adoration the family orbited around and respected from the moment they met
her till the day she drew her last breath.
With love in my heart and sorrow in my soul you're loving Great Granddaughter

Poem for Abuela

Feel no guilt in laughter, she knows how much you care.
Feel no sorrow in a smile that Abuela is not here to share.
You cannot grieve forever, she would not want you to.
She will hope that you could carry on the way you always do.
So, talk about the good times and the way you showed you cared.
The days you spent together, all the happiness you shared.
Let Abuela's memories surround you, it could be a word someone may say.
Will suddenly recapture a time, an hour, a day that brings her back
as clearly as though she never left.
The feeling that she is always near.
For if you keep those moments, you will never be apart.
And she will live forever locked safely within your heart.

Our beloved Mom has passed, and although she lived a long and happy life she thought all of us the meaning of family and what it means to be loved. Mom, the pain that I am feeling cannot be measured in any way. 

You had been there for me and all of the family for as long as I can remember and for that I thank you with all my heart. I know that you are now resting and that God had plans with you and that is why he called you to him. Everyone of us, (your kids) had received that same love from you and that is why we can show that love back to you without any limits. 

Everyone knows that I was your favorite and that there was nothing that anyone could say to change that. That same love that you gave me I tried to give back to you in so many ways to show my appreciation to everything you had done for me.

I now hurt and in my heart you will always be the light of my eyes, I love you Mami till the day I die and will be with you again.

You are in our hearts forever! The memories that we have will live on everytime we get together we will speak of your love and kindness. Not a day will go by without thinking of you. May you rest in peace.  We are missing you the only thing helping us through is knowing we all have a wonderful new guardian angel with us.
