He was born in Cleveland, the son of the late Charles and Helen (nee Schmidt) Beargie. He is the loving brother of the late Herb, Charles (Geraldine), Eleanore and Laverne Beargie; dear uncle of Charles (Karen) Beargie, Paul (Diane) Beargie, Margaret Mary (Lee, deceased) Selzer and James Beargie; adored great-uncle and great-great uncle of many.
He served his country in the US Army during WWII where he earned the EAME Campaign Ribbon, One Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Combat Infantryman. Wounded in action, he was honorably discharged at Crile General Hospital in Cleveland on November 21, 1944. He remained in Cleveland and was employed as a lithographer. He enjoyed his time with his friends playing golf and fishing.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 10AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 6928 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland. Committal services at Holy Cross Cemetery will be private.
