I am the vivid colors of the flame in the beach bonfire you have in my memory later that evening
I am the glitter in your tears…the ones I requested you not to shed
And I am also the flash in your smile when reminiscing my past

I am not in the container, the urn, the jar, the vase on your fireplace mantle
And you will not find me in the jug, vial or even the keepsake pendant you posses

What I am is…
The thundering bass line of Tool playing on the radio
The vibrant color of ink in the needle of your next tattoo
The harsh burn of your Jack Daniels shot
The moist remains on your face after a kiss from a bulldog

I am…
The sound of a hammer hitting a nail into a roof-top shingle on a staggering warm summer day
And the buzz of a bee in your backyard garden
And I am that guy who calls you “dude”…even if you are a woman
I am that long, firm hug you received and will never forget

I am not here and never was
I am Nick and I am now free…I am now alive
I did not pass away, I was never gone
People, I am everywhere…I am still alive

I will see you all again
