Minnie Young

Minnie Lee Tobe Glymph Young was

born in Fairfield County, South Carolina

on November 8, 1917 to Corris Tobe and

Iva Morgan. On Sunday, March 22, 2020,

God, hearing her prayers, called her home.

Mrs. Young was 102 years old.

She attended school in Fairfield County.

South Carolina. Early in life, she met and

married the late Herman Glymph. From

this union was born her son the late James

Glymph Young and her daughter, the late Amye Glymph Harney. After

leaving South Carolina, Mrs. Young moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where she

met and married the late John Young. They moved to Cleveland. While in

Cleveland she worked in the nursing department at Cleveland Metropolitan

General Hospital for over 30 years. She was an active member of East Mt.

Zion Baptist Church.

Mrs. Young was fun-loving, had a great sense of humor, quick witted and

did not mince words. She enjoyed a full and blessed life. Left to cherish her

memories are her sister Teresa Goree, Newberry, South Carolina, daughter

in law, Ollie Young, Las Vegas, NV, son in law the Rev. Clarence Harney,

Cleveland, Ohio as well as eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren

and ten great, great grandchildren and a host of extended family members

and friends.

O God of grace and glory, we remember before you this day our sister. Minnie.

We thank you for giving her to us, her family and friends, to know and to love

as a companion on our earthly pilgrimage. In your boundless compassion, console

us who mourn. Give us faith to see in death as the gate of eternal life, so that in

quiet confidence we may continue our course on earth, until, by your call, we are

reunited with those who have gone before; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
