Margaret Ann Murray was born August 1, 1941 in Auburn, Alabama to Marie Ware & Willie Lee Jackson. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, one brother Alfonso and one sister Barbara.
Moving to Cleveland, Ohio at the age of 4, she was educated in the Cleveland Public School System, completing her education at John Hay High School.
In March of 1965, she met and married James H. Murray Sr and to this union five children were born: Debbie, James Jr., Derrick & Tonya. Husband James Sr. and a baby daughter preceded her in death.
She was a member of Queen Elizabeth Chapter #9 OES, PHA Bezaleel Assembly #19 Order Of The Golden Circle, ElHasa Court #47.
In the early 80’s, Margaret was a very active bowler, bowling with the RTA league for more than 25 years winning a number of trophies. She also bowled with Elhasa Temple just to name a few.
Margaret accepted Christ at an early age, and was baptized at Mt Herman Baptist Church where Dr. Fuller was her pastor. After leaving Mt Herman, she became a member of the Gethsemane Baptist Church where Pastor Richard T. Parker was her pastor. She was a devoted member of the Usher Board.
Margaret passed away peacefully on July 5, 2021. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She will be missed dearly.
She leaving to cherish her memory: daughters: Debbie and Tonya; sons: James Jr. and Derrick (Lynn); six grandchildren: Calvin, Antonio, Ashley, Ranisha, Tionna and Nautika; eight great-grandchildren: Calvin, Kalyiah, Kamaya, Andre, Ameria, Cali, Chole’, Royalty, and Royal; brother Kenneth Watzelza and sister Janice Watzelza; two nieces: Tiffany and Crystal; beloved friend Alma Smith of 50 years; and a host of cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
