Kent Van Fletcher was born in January 28, 1954 in Middletown, OH to the union of Carlos Sr. and Esline Fletcher (Nee Davis).
Kent accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Sardis Primitive Baptist Church. He received his formal education in Cleveland City Public School system and was a proud Tarblooder, graduating from Glenville High School.
Kent Van was employed at LTV Steel until retirement with 29 years of service. Upon his retirement Kent spent most of his time doing what he loved. He was a gifted artist drawing well known characters and landscapes. He was also a talented chef who specialized in breakfast omelets and grilling some of the best bbq ribs you have ever tasted. In his younger years you could find him cycling across Ohio. Kent was SHARP, he took great pride in dressing well and shopping for outfits that would surely land him on the cover of GQ. Lastly, he enjoyed being the life of the party, spending time with his friends and family.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Carlos and Esline Fletcher; sisters, Margret Winborn and Marsha Jo Fletcher.
Kent leaves to cherish his wonderful memories: beloved children, Kentesha “Sommer”, Kent “Boy”, and Kevin; siblings, Carlos Fletcher Jr.(Gealdean), Johnny(Gaylon), Debra(Louis) of Peoria, AZ; five grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A loving girlfriend, Janice Graham.
A wake for Kent will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Cummings & Davis Funeral Home, 13201 Euclid Avenue, East Cleveland, Ohio 44112. A memorial service will occur Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 2:30 PM, 13201 Euclid Avenue, East Cleveland, Ohio 44112. An interment private will occur.
