I met Henry a few years ago. We both tried to keep in touch, but we haven’t spoken in about a month. Henry was such an amazing person, and I will be forever grateful for having a chance to get to know him. My love is with his family.

Henry, The Barometer, will be missed. John Briggs and Dave Gray named Henry this because he could run longer than any of his teammates. And they knew practice was over when Henry was done.  I am so sorry, Henry. I wish you and your entire family love and healing.

Henry was a very smart, bright light that went dim way too soon. He enjoyed life to the fullest.  He was an awesome young man and he was a tremendous blessing for so many.  Though we will never fully understand the internal struggles he faced we will take solace knowing that Henry is resting peacefully.  His death is a reminder that we never really know someone’s story.  
Henry was loved beyond words by so many people.  Henry will be missed beyond measure by so many people.  Henry will live on forever in our hearts. Dear Henry,
When I saw that you weren’t with us, I couldn’t believe it. I think I stared at the text at least 50 times. I didnt know you very long, but it felt like much longer. Its hard for me to even try to think about what life will be without you here now. We may have fallen off in our friendship near the end but you always had a special place in my heart. You were a great coworker and an even better friend. I will miss your presence deeply. Wether it’s you trash talking me when we play 8-ball or late night talks when either of us need support. I will miss all of it. 

I also want to send my deepest condolences to his family. I never got the chance to formally meet you but I want you to know that my heart goes out to you. Ellen, as an SJA student, I want you to know that at any time if you need a break, I am here for you. You can come to me at any time, wether to talk or just the need to be in someone’s presence.

The Breen Family

Andrew and Henry have known each other since the early days of Near West Rec soccer and baseball, with dad Pat as coach. They reunited at St. Ignatius, and became neighbors and close friends when we moved just a few houses down a couple of years ago. Andrew will be lost without his second home at the Cornely’s, as I know many of the boys will be. It was central, their spot, with Henry at the helm. 
 Never forgotten, forever missed. 
We are heartbroken for everyone feeling this pain and loss. 

I was lucky enough to teach Henry first and second grade at UCS.  I will always remember his bright mind, sweet heart, and mischievous little smile. He was such a wonderful student and friend even at that young age.  I treasure the time I had with him. The super hero stories he wrote, the pictures he drew, the fun stories we shared. May God grant peace to him and his wonderful family. I’m so very sorry for your loss.

Dear Henry, I don’t know where to begin but to thank you for entering my life and to all those around you. I remember going over for a couple weekends in a row and seeing you with all your closest friends happy and smiling, and to me that felt great. I loved seeing everyone laughing and having fun with you. You were such a great person to all those you love, and so welcoming to everyone you met. Even though we weren’t close you’ve done and said so much to me and I couldn’t have thanked you enough. I hope you rest dearly Henry, You will forever be remembered, and I’m so thankful I’ve got to meet you in this lifetime.

Henry was one of my campers in the Arrupe Explorers program a few summers ago. His niche sense of humor brought so much joy to those around him. Holding Mary & Ellen close in my prayers this week through this tremendous loss.

Me and Henry never really saw things eye to eye but I could always remember the times where no one saw what I was going through except him he was my rebound I remember all the bounce passes he gave me when we played basketball every assist Henry was a very important person in my life and I will miss him every single day Rest in Peace Henry much love.

To Henry, my brother, I remember first meeting you in middle school lost and confused. You showed me what it meant to have a true friend, how to see anything from a different light, how to express myself, and overall formed me into a better man. I love you bro more than I could realize. As I gather my thoughts tonight and today I try to prepare myself for a life I have to live without you in it, the thoughts cannot be formed. You impacted my life and changed it for the better in ways I can’t understand. Thank you for everything, for changing me as a man and helping create the best core memories of my life, for being there for the best and worst times of it all. To Mary and Ellen you are two of the strongest women  I know and you’ve shown me nothing but love since the beginning, To my second mom and lil sister, I’ll be here for you guys till the very end. Man Henry, I was at work and when I got the call and text that you weren’t with us anymore I just couldn’t believe it. I just didn’t want to believe it because I remember just seeing you before break and we were all laughing talking about what we were gonna do and all of us should hang out. And hearing that we weren’t gonna be able to see ever again hit me hard man. I remember sophomore year you came to our table for lunch and ever since then you became like a brother to us. It hurts that I couldn’t do anything to help because I’ve been in the same boat as you, but I know that God is going to take good care of you buddy. I will forever remember our memories. When i first met Henry back in 2019 we instantly clicked and we would talk every time we got to see each other. Now that I had the amazing opportunity to get close to him and consider him family is something i will always cherish. I know he is up there listening to his favorite music and turning up at concerts in heaven. He will always be loved and missed. ❤️🕊️

Your smile was so beautiful. You knew how to make everyone smile and laugh. I’ve had some of the best experiences of my life while spending time with you and just being able to smile. I’m so grateful for the time I got to spend with you, I just wish there was more time.  I’m so grateful that I had the opportunity to know your family and spend time with not only you but your friends also. Your friends were always so down and level with you and it’s so easy to understand why people wanted to know you. I give my condolences to Henrys family, you guys are in my prayers during this rough time.

I remember you from when I first started at Urban Community School. You were always so interesting to be around. I wasn’t as close to you as I should have been, yet you cared for me so much. You checked up on me and we would talk about our feelings with each other. You had so much love in you heart Henry, I wish you were here to continue to share that love. As your brother, I will try and share that love with the world in your name. 

I didnt know henry for that long, but when i looked at his eyes and his smile i could tell how pure and beautiful his soul was. There was never a dull moment when i was with him and he always was so kind. He always thought about other people and every time i talked to him we were talking about something we both related to. He was truly a good person inside and out and will never be forgotten 💔

Your laughter and silliness will be missed!

I met Henry back in 2015 because I was his high school buddy for the Arrupe Summer Program.   Henry was such a joy every day and he helped make the summer for me one of the best I've ever had.  He always lit up the room when he would walk in and I remember how he had a blast with the other campers trading Pokemon cards.  Henry helped me more than he ever imagined and I feel like everyone deserves to know that.  Without him I would not have met Ellen a few years later and I still to this day think of them as such amazing individuals. Thinking about you and your family through these times.

Henry was one of the most genuine and kind people i’ve ever met. He was so unique and made everyone around him feel good. I’m so incredibly glad I got to have some amazing moments with him and with his great friends. Reconnecting with him these last few months was such a blessing.  I’m praying for his amazing mother mary and sister ellen throughout this time <3

Henry Cornely. This still doesn’t feel real. I will forever love you bro. I can still remember the first time we met at the mentor football game sophomore year and you invited me back to your house. Ever since then I started coming over every day after school. Not only have you significantly impacted my life but you’ve taught me never to change for anybody or change anything about myself for anything. I will never forget you and I will make sure everybody knows how much a beautiful soul you were. Rest easy Hen.

I had Henry for visual arts the second half of his freshman year after he transferred to my class from another teacher’s due to scheduling shifts. Notably, she was reluctant to give up the young budding artist as he had shown overflowing promise in the first couple of line exercises they had undertaken as a class. He was an overwhelmingly kind young man who worked diligently at perfecting his artworks, taking the full period to complete half an image but with double the intricate detail. His hard work and talent stood out amongst his peers and he had a stunning, standout portrait he painted that was included in the art show that year. During a year that was challenging for myself as a first year in a new position during a pandemic, Henry was undoubtably a glowing highlight and I will remember him as such. 

Henry has been one of my best friends for a couple of years. He was the most genuine person I’ve ever known. If I ever needed anything, Henry was always there for me. I was at Henry’s every weekend and would go to his house after school. I remember going camping for the first time with Henry and his family. I cherish all the time that we spent together. Henry was able to bring together so many people. Without Henry, I wouldn’t be the man I am today. I am grateful for his mother Mary and his sister Ellen. They have welcomed me into their life without hesitation. If they ever need anything I will always be one phone call away. Henry is my brother and I will carry on his legacy for the rest of my life.

I haven’t seen Henry in quite some time but when we were little we were always running around at the ohio state parties together with my cousins. From playing in the house when we weren’t supposed to be in there to jumping on the trampoline till we couldn’t breathe. I wish I could have seen him one more time all grown up. Me and Henry have been best friends since we were in elementary school and I would of never expected anything like this to happen and I wish I could see him again. Hi, I am truly sorry about your loss, Henry was a person who’d be there for me when I was lost and I’d text him and we’d talk about a bunch of stuff from time to time. He was a person who lit up a room. I met him when going camping in Sandusky, Ohio one time, that night was one of the best nights I had in a long time. It was him and his two best friends (Terrance and Anthony), they all got along so well together and made my trip 10 times better than it was. I am so greatly appreciated of Henry and his friends, I hope to stay in contact with Terrance and Anthony and keep checking up on them because I know this is devastating for them. I grieve and am praying for the Cornely Family and hope they can all stick together through this. Rest In Peace my brother. Love you bro, fly high.
