Gracie Mae Threadgill, affectionately known as Grace, was born on March 19, 1929, in Covington, Georgia to Grady and Emma Sims. Grace accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She departed this life and went onto eternity with the Lord on January 16, 2024.
Grace attended and graduated from school in Georgia, eventually moving to Cleveland, Ohio with her family as a young adult. In the mid-1950s, she began working at Milgram’s, a high-end fashion retailer. From there, Grace went to work for and retire from Lisa Moran, LTD.
Grace joined Emmanuel Baptist Church in 1949, and was a member until her passing. She enjoyed singing in the choir and participating in various church activities.
In 1951, Grace married Henry “Hank” Threadgill, having a union of 58 years, until Henry passed in 2009. They had 2 children, Wayne and Ronald.
Grace enjoyed taking trips, especially with her husband, and chatting with friends and family. She loved working in her yard every year, planting flowers and tending to her garden. Grace always spoke on the importance of the Lord in her life. She loved and protected her family and provided instruction when needed.
Grace is survived by her son, Wayne; granddaughters, Tiffany and Erika (Mike); great-grandchildren Mikala, Anthony, and Michael Jr.; niece, Phyllis; bonus grandchildren Nicole, Ashley, and Tasha; and friends of the family. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry; parents, Grady and Emma; her brother; sister, Gertrude; and son, Ronald.
A wake for Grace will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Cummings & Davis Funeral Home, 13201 Euclid Avenue, East Cleveland, Ohio 44112, followed by a memorial service at 2:30 PM.
