Eva J Zerby

Eva Joan Zerby, née Franckowiak, passed away after a long illness on February 20th. She was the beloved daughter of Benjamin and Hetty Franckowiak, loving sister of Thomas Franckowiak, Dorothy Talpas, Gertrude Shaffer, and Agnes Franckowiak; the devoted wife of Donald Wesley Zerby, and mother of Debra Zerby, all deceased . She is survived by her daughter, Terri (John) Hisel, granddaughter, Charlotte Hetty Hisel, many nieces, nephews, and a loving extended family.

A stylish and loving presence, she made many friends both in Cleveland, Ohio, and Uniontown, Pennsylvania where she was born. She kept her humor, warmth, and dignity through every challenge. She truly could “talk to a wall and get it to talk back!”

The family wishes to acknowledge the communities of St. Augustine Towers and Manor, and the specialized care provided by Holy Family Palliative and Hospice care. The friends she made and the care the staff provided were the very best examples of compassion and support. We are deeply grateful for them.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 24, at 11am at St Malachi Catholic Church, 2459 Washington Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio, 44113. Family will receive friends at 10am until time of service. Burial is private and out-of-state.
