It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ellie Vega. Ellie's beautiful journey on this earth came to an end unexpectedly on 10/21/23. Although she is no longer with us, her vibrant spirit and loving nature will forever remain in our hearts. Ellie was a devoted daughter, sister, and aunt. She’s proceeded in death by her father Angel Vega and leaves behind her mother, Haydee Vega and sisters Melinda, Brunilda, and Norma. She was aunt to Ricardo Peña (Cacy), Melissa Pedraza (Crespin), Josette Peña, Reynaldo Tovar, and Mauricio Peña. And known as Titi Ellie to several great and great-great nephews and nieces.
Ellie was born on 3/4/61 in Villalba, Puerto Rico, and from a young age, she radiated a light that touched everyone she encountered. Her infectious laughter and genuine kindness brought warmth and joy to those around her. During her time on this earth, Ellie made a lasting impact on the lives of many. As a well known barber on the west side of Cleveland, she always strived to make a difference in the lives of others. Making sure they would leave her barber chair with confidence. Her words had the power to uplift, inspire, and evoke emotions in others. Ellie lived a carefree life. She had a deep appreciation and love for animals. Her adventurous spirit led her on unknown paths and journeys.
Ellie's absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her beautiful smile, big personality, and her loving spirit will continue to live on in our hearts. May Ellie's soul find eternal peace, and may her family and friends find comfort in the cherished memories they shared with her. Ellie's legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire us all.
A Celebration of Ellie's life will be held at 12 PM on Monday, October 30, 2023 at Riverside Cemetery.
