I fill very blessed to have met Derek a few years ago his cousin and a dear friend of mine introduced us we hit it off right away not only was he an excellent barber he was a excellent man my heartfelt condolences to his family Rest in peace Derek and if you cut any hair in Heaven be sure to use that old school Clubman talc 🙏🙏

Derek and i have been friends for more than 50 years. Back in the day, the guys would walk to see their female friends.( they never walked alone) Sometimes Derek and the guys would walk to see my sisters and i and my dad would not let them see us(smile).  A few years ago he shared with me that he had caught the bus from Superior to 131st.and Harvard to visit me. He had to walk back home because he did not have bus fare. He laughed so hard. Anyone who knew him knew that his laugh was contagious. What a wonderful friend he has been over the years. I will miss him and our great conversations. I know he loved the Lord. On my last visit with him he shared the  great love he had for his family. I will truly miss my dear friend. But i will see you on the other side. Much Love.

Mr Watson was a friend that I will miss dearly.  He taught me so much and when in his barber chair I felt like I was in his school of life learning on wisdom!  I will forever appreciate his friendship and how he looked out for me by showing he cared!

Derrick was my ‘brother from another mother’ because he chose to graciously adopt mom in our absence caused by distance! She would talk about how he cared for her in so many ways. Speaks volumes about his character! Of course I thanked him but, how can you express that kind of gratitude?
I hope he knows, but just as important is that his children know, understand, and walk in his example of real and practical LOVE 💕 

Mr Watson,   this is your friend that drives the red truck...MzPhyllis.    Mr Watson and I met at the barbershop.   I would come in, so that he could shape my sides & back.   My hair is locked, so we had plenty of times to get to know each other. He and I shared plenty of long conversations about family and Our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.   We became spiritual friends and we were always happy to see each other.   He would always "say I'm glad I talked to you".  The feeling was mutual. 
 I'm going to miss my friend and our beautiful talks...only God knows how much. He was a great man.    God's Blessings to his family and much love and prayers.

Hi family, My Name is Alvin. My heart is truly broken. Derek was family to me. He was my barber from 5 years old to now 28years old. He was more than a barber to me and my brothers. He was family. Great person and always had some great advice for me every time I seen him. Sometimes I would call just to check in. Condolences to the family he will be missed dearly.
