Carlos Oliveras born March 5, 1937 in Yauco, Puerto Rico to parents Juan Manuel Oliveras and Rosa Julia Mercado he was the 9th child of 11 siblings. Carlos migrated to New York as a young man at age 15 to work and gain his independence he later moved to Cleveland Ohio in 1959 with his wife to raise a family and worked 30 yrs in the steel industry as I.A.M. Union Machinist at Interior Steel Equipment Company. Carlos loved to play dominoes and loved to shoot pool and socialize with friends from his homeland. He was a former member of Club Alma Yaucana social club. He especially loved his Salsa music and often times talked about his days in New York when he and his older siblings danced at the Palladium. Carlos lived a full life and peacefully tanscended unto the Lord on January 8, 2022 at the age of 84 surrounded by his loving children.
Preceded in death by Ana Mercedes Sanchez (wife) Survived by children ; Carlos Jr. (Sue ) Mayra, Oscar (Susan), Marilyn (Jon), and Mercedita. Survived by siblings: Luzaida, Jaime and Cecelia
Grandchildren: Stacy, Sarah, Carla (Enrique), Frankie, Carlos, Mercedes, Alex, Jonathan(Jaclyn) Kalyn(Jacob)
Great grandchildren: Tatyana, Isaijah, Lexi, Leah, Ariana, Dejean, Daniel, Carlos, Maddison, Jordyn, Brooke, Ciara, Amelia
Cremation by Craciun Berry Funeral Home.
There will be no funeral viewing. Due to COVID concerns a private graveside ceremony and interrment has been postponed and will be determined at a later date. Family will notify friends and family by mail invite for the memorial service.
