Barbara was born November 13, 1946 in Cleveland, the daughter of the late James and Agnes (nee Dzurec) Stavnicky. She is the beloved wife and partner of 35 years to David J. Karn; loving mother of Darlene Korkan, Edward Korkan, Douglas (Barbara) Korkan and David Korkan and step-mother of David J. (Natalie) Karn Jr., and Anthony Karn; cherished grandmother of Joshua Moye and great-grandmother of Shane, Elyana and Mason; dear sister of Patricia (Eddie) Gorisek, Kenneth (Barbara) Stavnicky, Diane (Richard) Waddel, Betty (Scott) Hale and Janice (Leslie) Gregg; adored aunt of many.
She was raised in Cleveland and graduated from Lourdes Academy. She attended St. Coleman Church in Cleveland and St. Cyril Methodius Church in Lakewood. She retired from BP Oil Corporation following 17 years of dedicated service. Her commitment was to her family, catholic faith and her Slovak heritage, values she carried through and passed along to her children. Shy and reserved, she shined through her elegance, grace, beautiful smile and would light up a room the moment she entered. Barbara and Dave enjoyed their long rides with no destination, afternoons at the casino and their travels together. She was loved and will be dearly missed.
