Tom was my friend in High School, and I will miss him a great deal. I hung out with him at our reunions and immensely enjoyed our time together there. A sweet guy. God bless him always.

I first met Tom (and Laurie) in June 2021 when my family and I were staying with Jim, Leslie and their kids at the family lake house in New Hampshire. Tom instantly became one of my favorite people because of his warmth, humor, and love of life. His eyes radiated  happiness, clearly due largely to his love for Laurie and their amazing adventures traveling the world. I was thrilled that I was able to turn him on to Japanese whisky for the first time. I always loved catching up with him since then at the Margolis’ house in LA when they visited. I remember Tom as an avid tennis player and a great friend. He was always willing to step in and fill a spot when our mixed doubles team had a last minute vacancy. I first met Tom when I was a little girl . Tom lived in my neighborhood  and we have been friends all these years though rarely  saw each other. It’s was such a treat to reconnect with him at our 55+1 reunion weekend  and not too look ago at a luncheon for classmates.

At a time when the world was faced with so many challenges and fears during Covid. Tom and Laurie became more than just my clients they became my cherished friends.  I loved being at their home helping in their comfort and care,  but also as a their confidant and friend. My heart felt broken for the losses they suffered over the past few years, but my heart is now entirely broken for Laurie and for Tom who was an amazing man who I know loved  Laurie so much.  To have a man openly speak of his happiness is not common so I feel blessed to know he trusted me with his feelings for Laurie..  My heartbroken Laurie, you truly were loved and so blessed to have your years with Tom.  You completed him. To Tom and his family; Tom was only my client for a short time at Club Fit when using the big red machine. We chatted every single day when he came into the club outside of his time with me using the big red machine. He was incredibly strong. He was incredibly resilient. He fought hard to beat his neuropathy. He worked even harder to maintain his strength and his personality never faltered. He was one of my favorite clients from 2014-2021 until I moved away during the pandemic. I send all my love to his family and wife, he will always hold a memorable piece of my life in Cleveland. I’m devastated and yet, happy to know he is pain free and living a beautiful life where he is now. Hugs to his family. For the past 12 1/2 years that my family has known Tom he has been the most kind ,generous ,lovable, person to our family, and love of his life to my sister Laurie Bruder. He never got to meet my mom, but Tom was everything to our family. He Is what we call a mensch. He treated my sister and her children and grandchildren as if they were his own. Tom never said anything bad about anyone. He never said no to my sister for what she wanted..,They had  a truly love relationship from the beginning that ended to soon. Tom we will all miss you ,and I will never forgot how good you were to my sister Laurie.
