Thelma M. Mandel Shapiro

THELMA M. SHAPIRO (nee Mandel), age 89, died March 4, 2015. Beloved wife of Dr. Daniel Shapiro; devoted mother of Saj-nicole Joni of MA, Carol Anne Cohen, Clifford J. (Darlene A. Vorachek) Shapiro of IL and Richard Shapiro (deceased); loving grandmother of Eric Cohen, Stephanie and Elizabeth Cohen and Alicia Shapiro; dear sister of Shirley Krasner and Doris Orenstein (both deceased). Thelma was an innovative and progressive teacher, avid tennis player, passionate gardener and beloved friend. She filled her life with books, classical music, friends and family. She will be remembered for her kindness, good cheer and gentle smile. Services will be held at BERKOWITZ-KUMIN-BOOKATZ MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1985 S. TAYLOR RD., CLEVELAND HTS., on Friday, March 6 at 12 noon. Interment Bet Olam Cemetery (Park Synagogue Section). Please join the family at her daughter Carol Anne's home, located at 6057 Williamsburg Dr., Highland Hts., FRIDAY AFTER THE INTERMENT UNTIL 8 PM, AND ON SATURDAY BETWEEN 1 PM AND 5 PM.
