I was so sorry to learn about the passing of Stephan.  I had the chance to work with him on the state of Ohio Dual Diagnosis Task Force and Center for Excellence.  He was an exceptional professional to know and work with and I'm very aware of the impact he made on those he touched through his important work.  I know that will live on.  I enjoyed our time working together on that project and discovered along the way that he also had a great sense of humor.  I always appreciated that.  I'm so very happy to have known him and I wish for his family, friends and loved ones that you have peace during this most difficult of times.  

To the family of Dr. Schwartz,  I am so sorry for your loss.  I am a Social Worker who worked with him for the last few years.  We had many good conversations and he was always very helpful.  He will be greatly missed.  My prayers are with you all.

I've known Steve for a very long time  We  attended an educational group in the 1970s. I was lucky to work with him recently. He 
was a lovely sweet man and I am so sorry for your loss.

 I would like to express my sympathy for your loss. Steve was a very kind and smart man. In 1996  I was hired to work at CCBDD in Steve's department.  He was always so helpful and made me feel extremely welcome in my position. He was always smiling, and would offer great professional advice.  Please know that you are in my prayers during this time of loss.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Steve.  My sympathy to his family and close friends.  I remember to this day (some 28 years ago) when I had just finished my thesis and Steve called me informing me that I had been hired to work at the county.  I was re-energized, happy  and excited to work again with the developmentally disabled.  Steve provided me with support on my ideas, further educated me, and kept motivated and driven.  I remember during turns and losses in my life, him calling to check on me and offer support. I continue to enjoy and feel driven in my work because of his efforts.  He was a role model, mentor, a teacher and a friend.  I will miss him. 

I am still in shock about Steve’s passing. Pat I send you all my thoughts and prayers in this time of sorrow. I worked with Steve for many many years and appreciated his intellect, his dedication, and his desire to see the very best and quality services delivered to persons with IDD. 

Steve was a favorite colleague at the Cuyahoga County Board of DD who never let me forget that we grew up together in Pennsylvania (Ellwood City for me!). I'm so sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for your loss.  Steve was a supervisor and mentor to me for many years at the Cuyahoga County Board of DD.  I really appreciated his thoughtful manner.  Steve worked to support thousands of people throughout his career.  It is clear that he was a mentor to many and his legacy will continue for a long time.  He will be greatly missed. 

Steve was a great mentor to me when I worked at JFSA and I’ve always been so appreciative of the time he spent with me. Such a great man, I’m better for simply knowing him and my heart goes out to his family and friends. 

I had the privilege of having Dr Schwartz as my clinical supervisor for many years when I was at Metzenbaum.  He was brilliant and so happy to share his knowledge with me.  He taught me so much as a clinician and I would not be who I am today without his amazing influence.  I am eternally grateful to have had him as such a huge part of my professional development.  He will be greatly missed by so many people.  My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Dear Pat, I am so saddened by your loss.  Steve was a terrific, intelligent, good human being.  I so enjoyed knowing him.  We didn't always agree but that was part of our relationship.
