Rochelle R. Nyer

Rochelle Rubin Nyer, aged 74, passed away on November 22, 2024, in Cleveland, OH after a 3 year battle with ALS. Born on September 30, 1950, Shellie dedicated over 40 years to her career as a Speech-Language Pathologist, specializing in diagnosing and assisting children and their families. Known for her kindness and generosity, she cherished time spent with her family and friends.

Shellie played a significant role in her community as a board member of Milestones Autism Resources for over 10 years, helping to plan the organization's annual innovative conference. Her commitment to service and community betterment was evident through her actions and involvement.

She leaves behind a loving family: her husband of almost 54 years Mark Nyer; daughters Rabbi Shoshana Nyer and Deena Nyer Mendlowitz; grandchildren Rafi Mendlowitz and Emily Langel; brothers Dr. Marc Rubin ( Dr.Julie) and Eric Rubin (Laura); and her "Big Sis" Dr. Suzi Krock Mandel ( Dr. Marty). She was preceded in death by her parents, Myron and Adelaide Rubin (Chakoff).

Services will be held at Berkowitz-Kumin–Bookatz 1985 S. Taylor Rd. Cleveland Heights, Ohio 44118 at 11 am on Monday, November 25th. Interment to follow at Mount Olive Cemetery. Shiva will be held following interment until 8pm Monday evening at Suburban Temple Kol Ami at 22401 Chagrin Blvd. Beachwood. The family will also observe shiva at the home of her daughters. 30499 South Woodland Rd. Pepper Pike. On Tuesday and Wednesday 1-4pm and 6:30-8:30pm.
