Rita was born in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. She moved to Southfield, Michigan in 1975. Then moved to Timberlake, North Carolina in 2016.
Beloved wife of Arnold "Babe" Shamis (deceased); loving mother of Reeni (Xavier) Melgoza of Timberlake, NC, Curtis Shamis of FL, Pam (Glenn) Griffith of Mayfield Hts, OH, and Scott (Phyllis) Shamis of Surfside, FL; Grandmother of Ivy (Tim) Bayer, Brent (Sondra) Nesbit, Kyle (Anna) Griffith, Ally (Tony) Satullo and Bryan Griffith; Great Grandmother to Tyler, Tessa, Lucas, Harper, and Cecilia. Loving sister of Chicky Margolis of Cleveland and Corkie (Bruce) Lisy of Parkman, OH.
Graveside funeral services will be held at Mt. Olive Cemetery, 27855 Aurora Rd, Solon, OH 44139, on Tuesday, November 26, TIME IS PENDING.
The family will receive friends at the Griffith residence, 1244 Belrose Rd, Mayfield Hts, OH 44124 immediately following services Tuesday until 8 PM and Wednesday from 1-4:30 PM and 6-8 PM.
In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or to Duke Heath Hospice at Hock Family Pavillion 4023 N Roxboro Rd, Durham, NC 27704.
