Beloved wife of Melvin Stuart Appell; devoted mother of Scott (Cindy) Appell, Craig (Jodi) Appell of, Jamey (Michelle) Appell and Aaron (Karen) Appell; loving grandmother of Christine (AJ), Amanda (Dylan), Spencer, Ethan, Alyssa, Mikaela, Carson, Cassandra, Leah and Abby; great grandmother of Micah and Marley; daughter of the late Albert and Alice Malecke (nee Eshowsky).
Phyllis loved hosting holidays, “marathon” long distance phone calls, family gatherings, Halloween, BBQ’s in the backyard, buying Happy Meals for her kids, grandkids and herself, Bearded Collies, dog shows, photo albums, collecting miniatures and dolls, Hough Bakery, gardening, refinishing wood, fresh flowers, Chinese food, shopping at “Penney’s”, Marc’s, or just about anywhere, family history, crafting, buying birthday and anniversary cards, McDonald’s fish sandwiches (no cheese, tarter sauce on the side, with a knife), breakfast on the back porch in the summer with her wicker swing, and “fights” with seltzer bottles and the water hose.
Above all, Phyllis loved her family. She loved her parents deeply and missed them. She was the ultimate advocate for her loved ones and was the best at caring for her husband, children and grandchildren.
