Paulette Krieger, 77, of Cleveland Heights, passed away on January 25th, 2025. Born on August 5th, 1947, Paulette’s life was filled with creativity, compassion, and a deep commitment to her family and the art world. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister and teacher whose life was defined by a deep love for art and a passion for teaching others to appreciate its transformative power. Her own art was rich with expression and emotion, reflecting her spirit and the beauty she saw in the world.
After graduating with her BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art with a major in printmaking and a minor in photography, Paulette went on to get her MA in drawing and painting from Kent State University. Paulette spent many years teaching and mentoring students of all ages. Her stops included Roxboro Elementary, Gilmour Academy, Interlochen Arts Camp, Cleveland Public Schools, Wiggins Place, Ursuline College, Notre Dame College, Eddy’s apple farm, and many more. Later in life, Paulette was fortunate to join some of the local drawing groups where she found friendship and was able to hone in on her portrait drawing skills.
Paulette was the loving mother of Benjamin Krieger and Aaron Krieger (Katherine Jayne), and the proud grandmother of Marcella Krieger and Amadea Krieger who brought her endless joy. Paulette’s family meant so much to her and she was a listening ear to her children, and grandchildren.
Paulette was also a devoted sister to Tallis George-Munro, a cherished aunt to Sam Munro and Jack Munro, a dearly loved cousin of Marti Ross (Terry) and a treasured niece to Dolly Wolfshagan of Hawaii. Her close-knit family was a pillar of strength and affection in her life and she shared many beautiful moments with them whether it be a quiet movie night at home or a day spent walking around The Cleveland Museum of Art.
We invite all who knew and loved Paulette to celebrate her life and spirit. A memorial gathering (and Art Show!) will be held on Sunday, February 2nd, from 12-4pm at the Cleveland Heights Recreation Center. In keeping with Paulette’s eye for the beauty and wonder she saw in the world, we encourage guests to wear colorful/artistic attire (purple was her favorite color!) as we gather to remember her with joy, laughter and vibrant memories.
Paulette loved flowers! If you feel so inclined to give flowers, Send to Care of Paulette, 2904 Scarborough Rd Cleveland Heights Ohio 44118 and the family will be sure they get to the service on Sunday.
