Myra and children I just learned of the passing of Lou. It is with great sadness that I offer my condolences . Lou and I worked together for the City of Cleveland. Aside from loving my job, it was always fun with Lou! He had a wonderful sense of humor and we were always trying to pull one over the other. He was a decent man and good friend!

I had only recently begun seeing Dr. Orenstein, but I will never, ever forget the patience he brought to each conversation, nor the clarity and confidence he allowed me to access in the midst of a lot of ultimately unnecessary strife. He was such a kind man. I'm so sorry.

Dear Orenstein Family,

I am truly sorry for your loss.  Lou was a gifted psychologist who helped me become a better person over the last 15 years of seeing him. I was referred to Lou by my mother who started seeing him in the early 1980's.  Since then I have referred everyone I possibly could to Lou because of how great he was, there was no one better.  He was a friend and I will miss him dearly.  My heart goes out to you all.

Mrs Orenstein and children, I am shocked and deeply deeply saddened by the passing of Dr.Orienstein.Im so sorry for your loss Your husband/Dad was my therapist for many years He was so so kind and caring He saved my life in many ways-because of him my life has been better than it ever could have been without his guidance. I sensed that perhaps he wasn't feeling well at our last appt abt 2 weeks ago,he was always professional and never acknowledged his ill health.I will never find another therapist as caring as him-I will greatly miss him Forever i will remember how his caring counsel gave me strength to believe in myself- to make life changes. May God give you much comfort,Mrs.Orenstein and children.

It's hard to find the perfect words to describe how I feel about Lou. He was my therapist for the last 4 years. But he was much more than that... He was an inspiration. In many ways he saved my life, and I will be forever grateful for that. It was a privilege to be able to experience his kindness and wisdom first hand. I really loved Lou and will miss him dearly. 

I want to send my condolences to Lou's family and friends. I am deeply sorry for your loss.

I'm deeply saddened by the loss of my dear friend Lou. He became my counselor 27 years ago, when I was going through the toughest years of my life. Ever since he helped me be stronger and happier. I will miss his grace, compassion, and zest for living. I wish consolation and peace to Myra, Daniel, Rebecca, and all his family.

Please accept my condolences. I saw Lou for counselling for 1.5 years, and he was an immense help in making positive changes in my life.

I am so sad to hear that my friend and dear psychologist, Lou, has passed on.  Genuinely, Lou helped me avert my early  death to alcoholism.  His empathy and utter frankness again and again helped me grow up.  I will miss knowing that he is no longer a phone call away.  Might I also note that as one of his +30 year patients--I KNOW how much he treasured his lovely wife and beautiful children.  I wish them every blessing.

I am so sorry to just now learn of Lou's passing.  Lou Orenstein was an important and beloved figure in my marriage and in my life.  From pre-marriage counseling through sobriety and beyond, Lou could be counted on to simply explain that we are not victims.  I will never forget - and still have (!) the Christmas card he sent out over 20 years ago with Rudolph laying on the counseling couch telling his shrink, &quot;they used to laugh and call me names.&quot;  That was Lou.  He will be missed by us and I suspect by so, so many.  Peace to you Myra and family.

To Louis' family, please accept my deepest condolences.  I was so shocked to hear of his passing.  His office was just down the hall from the one I work in.  Always took time to smile and say "hello".  Hope the family finds peace & be thankful he wasn't ill for a long period of time.
