I am sorry for your family's loss. Jean was a remarkable woman. May her memory be a blessing.

Growing up in Cleveland, the Lettofsky's were foundational members of my Jewish community.  As a young adult, I daavened in  the library minyan at Beth Am and saw its members whenever I came home for holidays from exotic locations such as Ann Arbor and Seattle.  Jean was particularly excited about my choice to attend library school and always offered encouragement and support. I'm sorry that I can't be in Cleveland with you all today. So many wonderful memories of Jean, from the Library Minyan, the Siegal College Library and her visits to Israel.  I can't think of a moment when she wasn't smiling.  I send love to Alan, Sharon, and Deborah and all of the family.  I wish them all many wonderful memories

.Marion Stein  here. I will always cherish my memories of Jean and Judy Greenblatt  as the leaders of the egal minyanim at our AJL annual conventions. Jean was ALWAYS there to help and see things ran as they should. Her leining was always perfect and her explanations clear and relevant. Jean was so, so  competent and loving. I am so sorry for the loss of your dear mother. I knew her for many years. First when I was a graduate student in library school and later when I was a librarian. I used to see her at the women's Purim megillah reading  at the JCC. Later when my daughter was old enough your mom taught her megillat Ruth for her Bat Mitzvah. I live in Israel and I had not seen your mother for many years but she was such a lovely bright woman I'm sure she will be very much missed   Pamela Braverman

I first met Jean Lettofsky through dear friends virtually at a performance during the 2020 pandemic, then in person only once just last year when we shared music again at a concert. I was deeply moved by Jean and Alan’s enthusiastic love of music and their kind spirit, and am grateful that my music brought happiness to them. I will always cherish having made their acquaintance, and wish Jean’s entire family comfort and solace at this time of sorrow and the knowledge that she effectively changed lives for the better through her loving presence.

So sorry for your loss…I have very fond memories of working together at the College…May she rest in peace and her memory be for a blessing❤️‍🩹

I am so saddened that Jean has passed away! We were staff colleagues at the former CCJS for more than 4 years, and my connection to Jean and Alan goes back to the1980s when we first met at the Library Minyan and Beth Am. She was a beloved and dependable volunteer during my 15 years as development staff at Gross Schechter Day School. 

Jean and I worked together, davened together, studied together, sang together, and celebrated holidays together. She welcomed my family into her and Alan's home for Pesach and Shabbat on multiple occasions. We shared many laughs and many moments of deep conversation.

Jean was among the warmest, most compassionate, most loving, and fun people I have ever known. Ironically, after retiring recently, I thought of Jean and Alan and planned to reach out to connect and catch up. I have not seen them since before the pandemic. I feel bereaved, never to see her and enjoy her company and friendship again.

My deepest sympathies to Alan, Sharon, Deborah, and the entire family. May you be comforted among the mourners of Zion and and Jerusalem.
