He was an amazing man, I will forever hold the memories of you and him in my heart and the journey and smiles we shared. As a former student of yours at Memorial and someone who went into education for 38 years because of your positive influence in my life, I know the tremendous loss of your beloved husband will be met with the strength that I recall in your shining eyes and the knowledge of your unending love that you always shared in your graceful smile. 

Today I went back and re-read a book that you illustrated.  May you find comfort in its tender message and solace in your family's love.

Steve and I will always remember spending a delightful evening with you and Shelley on the night tour of Washington DC monuments so many years ago. Much love to you, Jan.
