Gregg Mark Goldberg

GREGG MARK GOLDBERG age 61, was born July 23, 1955 and passed away March 2, 2017 in Beachwood, OH. "Being Dad" was the role Gregg cherished above all in life. Without question, his proudest achievement was watching, supporting and pushing his four boys as they grew into the men who he proudly would say are better than he was. As a man, he genuinely lived with his heart on his sleeve and through the grit of his teeth, allowing the wisdom and lessons he had for all those he encountered to be authentic to his essence. As “Coach,” Gregg positively impacted the lives of countless young people, teaching through the stroke of a racket how to fight, how to compete and how to push yourself to be the best you, YOU could be. Undeniably, Gregg lived in a way that inspired life, never letting a good moment pass by for a laugh, a hug, a pep talk or a great night out. He will not be forgotten because he was unforgettable. Survived by his four boys, Ari, David, Mark and Yale, who have had the greatest blessing of calling Gregg, “Dad.” Cherished by his sister Wendy and her husband Brett Avner, along with their children Lindsay and Jory and new grandchild, baby Lucy. vCelebrated by his brother Brett and wife Robin and their children Dustin and Drew. Deeply loved by his significant other Lydia Parker and family. Gregg will be dearly missed, though his memory can always honored by truly celebrating life. The family asks in lieu of flowers that any donations in his memory be made to Bright Pink (www.brightpink.org), a national non-profit educating young women about breast and ovarian cancer prevention. Funeral services will be held at BERKOWITZ-KUMIN-BOOKATZ MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1985 S. TAYLOR RD., CLEVELAND HTS. on Sunday, March 5 at 1 PM. Interment will follow at Mayfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends SUNDAY FOLLOWING INTERMENT UNTIL 8 PM AND MONDAY FROM 2–5 AND 6–8 PM at Beechmont Country Club, 29600 Chagrin Blvd., Orange Village.
