Allen D Benjamin, age 94, a resident of Scottsdale, Arizona and a native of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away of natural causes on December 21, 2023. Allen is survived by his wife of 5 years, Kathleen (Kaplan) Benjamin, along with his two sons, Dr.Jaye (Nancy) Benjamin and Gerald (Vicki) Benjamin, four grandchildren Carrie (Matthew Rosebrook) Benjamin, Reid (Dr. Mariel) Benjamin, Elyse Benjamin (Sean) Lanahan, and Erik Benjamin and four great grandchildren, Rubie,Tessa, Emmett and Theo. Dear brother of Judy (Alfred-deceased) Kahn, Joel (Marlene) Benjamin and the late Elaine (Marvin) Shapiro. Cherished uncle of many. Mr. Benjamin, a graduate of Cleveland Heights High School, was pre-deceased by his first wife of 64 years, Idele S. Benjamin, also a Cleveland Heights High graduate. Together, Allen and Idele were gifted and active amateur musicians throughout their lives. In Arizona, Allen played clarinet and saxophone in the Ron Phillips New Horizons Band (RPNHP) , in both the concert band and the jazz band.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 24, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Berkowitz- Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel, 1985 S. Taylor Rd. Cleveland Heights,Oh.Interment Bet Olam Cemetery. Rabbi Joshua Skoff officiating.
