He was a very kind person and so sensitive human , Mr Kay I met you coz you were my attorney I’ve Ben trying communicate with you many times I didn’t know that you passed away . It's so shocking, sad and painful to hear about the passing of a great man, and a wonderful lawyer, he handles people's problems  like his, and will always get a solution. I was just thinking of reaching out to him this week when I got the news that he has gone to join his ancestors. Please accept my condolences, may God forgive the dead. 😭

It has taken awhile to absorb Abraham being gone.  He was closer to my Sister's age and we all went to the same High School.  Needless-to-say, we saw each other often at social functions and had some great conversations.  I always admired Abraham for his intellectual honesty, tempered with soft spoken kindness.  His smile was infectious and we were always glad to see him, on any occasion.  To the Family, he will live on in our Hearts and by keeping him so, we keep him alive.  You are who you are because of his character.  And so am I.  He is missed, but will always be with us.

A great man ! He wasn’t just my attorney over the years, he was a father figure, advisor and a guardian. I remember meeting him at his residential office in lyndhurst, told him to not hesitate to call me if he needed any help since he was just 2 mins drive away from me, he made mention of his son who was in columbus as at that moment. His death devastates me, creates a void, difficult to fathom! I pray to the Almighty to please, give the family the fortitude to bear this huge loss, forgive his shortcomings, above all, grant him paradise. You will be greatly missed🥲Rest in heaven, Mr Kay !

I got to know Abraham well when I was working with him to find a new condo to begin the next chapter of his life as we were selling his family home in Beachwood.  We had much in common as we had both lost our spouses to cancer.  We talked about life without a partner and how we were moving forward with our children.  He was so proud of his sons and always shared their accomplishments.  He was brilliant, clever and entertaining when we were together.  May the void he leaves be filled with the memories of the accomplished life he led.  You are all in my thoughts and prayers.  May his memory be for a blessing.

Need to add that the funeral service was a beautiful tribute and I learned more about how and why Abraham brought so much “ light unto others”. 

As I remember, Mr. Kay had a good sense of humor. He was a fun and kind person. He will be missed greatly and remembered often.

My connection to Abraham was really through your mother and grandmother Sara. He was a devoted son. He always reached out to keep me and Cedar Sinai Synagogue informed about any updates to her health, etc. I also got to know Bonnie through our participation in Gathering Place activities. Your parents and grandparents are reunited. It is just sad that you will not have the opportunity to honor your parents in their old age they way they did their parents. But your words at the service today confirm the fine young men you have become. No doubt you will do other chesed for family and continue to make your parents and grandparents proud. May you all find comfort in your memories and the support of those who loved your loved ones as well.

I just watched the service for my masonic brother and friend, Abraham Kay. It was a wonderful service. Although I wasn't able to be there in person, I felt a close connection to him and his family. May Abraham rest in peace. God bless.

I remember Abraham and I at Mrs. Zimmerman's cottage at Geneva on the Lake, swimming in Lake Erie and singing Are You Blue at the top of our lungs.

I was a stranger in a strange land. Due to mutual interests we met and our relationship grew until he became my mentor and close friend. I always picture him in my mind as a thoughtful, humorous and large hearted father figure. He was a living example of how people from a different backgrounds (generational, racial, religious, geographic) can bridge their differences and share fellowship. I will miss him and find consolation in the fact that my life has been made fuller because of Abraham.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I met Abraham at The Gathering Place. He always spoke of his wonderful Bonnie, his amazing sons and the love of his entire family. He was a kind, thoughtful, wise man.

Dear Benjamin, Sam, Marsha and Bill -

We were devastated to learn of Abraham’s passing yesterday.  Abraham and I were close friends and virtual brothers since childhood when we met in our early teen years at Camp Moshava in Wild Rose, Wisconsin.  Together we shared the gamut of life experiences that included learning, laughing and crying, and through it all Abraham remained relentlessly dedicated to principles and values that sustained him throughout his life in both the good times and the bad. None of those life events was more special than when Abraham married Bonnie, a most amazing woman and a match that was the epitome of the Yiddish term B'shert. Over the years, Janice and I have been proud to be a part of so many of your family’s life events including weddings, bris’, bar mitzvahs and even funerals, and we couldn’t have been more thrilled when your parents journeyed to Rochester to rejoice with us and participate in our own family’s special events.  We know that Abraham has positively impacted the lives of so many who have had the privilege of knowing him in what was a life very well-lived albeit far too short. Abraham will be deeply missed, and his memory will truly be a blessing.

By chance (a few months before his mother died),  Abe, Jack, and I had a wonderful conversation in a waiting room at Cleveland Clinic.  We reminisced about our Taylor Road Synagogue growing up days . . . and his pride in his son's accomplishments.  As we both said Kaddish via Zoom, we enjoyed more lively conversations. He recounted his wedding - and how as he and Bonnie walked up the aisle after the ceremony she said, "Don't I get to say anything?"

I fondly remember working on my hiking and biking merit badges with my father, Abraham, and one of his sons, Ben.  We were in Boy Scouts together and Abraham was a wonderful leader, mentor, and dear friend.  
Abraham and I were also Masonic brothers.  He truly embodied what it meant to be a Brother Mason.
He was a deeply religious man, and invited my family to participate in the sacred Passover Seder Dinner rituals.  It is because of Abraham that I know so much about Judaism and Jewish culture.  
My deepest condolences to the family.  I will never forget his sagely advice, friendship, and brotherly love.  



I'm a professional philosopher. I always looked forward to your dad's insights. He always added to the discussion. He had deep insights on every topic. He will be missed.
