She was born in Durham, North Carolina to Sybil Marie Morris and William Milton Woodruff. After graduating from Durham High School, she worked for Heinz Telephone Company in Durham. She married Albert David Willette of Stem, NC in 1962.
Tanya owned Total Coverage by Tanya, a wallpaper and coverage business for over twenty years. She was well renowned for being meticulous with her work and enjoyed a warm and collegiate working relationships with many builders and clients in the Winston-Salem area.
Tanya is preceded in death by her parents, William Milton and Sybil Woodruff and her brother, Thomas Morris Woodruff. She is survived by her daughter, Dana Willette Carstensen, (husband Bill), and son David Chad Willette, (wife Eva). A most special place in her heart was reserved for her grandchildren, Chandler and Sofia. She is also survived by her sisters Judith Jarrell, husband Philip, Tricia Montague, husband Roy, and brother Grier Woodruff, wife Judy and Brenda Woodruff. She also leaves nieces and nephews: Kimberly Dedrick, Phil Jarrell, Michelle Jarrell, Kristi Woodruff Balding, Bridgett Woodruff Mazer, Todd Parham, Chase Montague, Josh Montague, Ashley White Vernon. Tanya shared many, many friendships over the years and she cherished each one.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 26th at 12 noon at Vogler & Sons Funeral Home, 2951 Reynolda Rd, with Pastor Eddie Brackett officiating. The family will receive friends for a visitation at 11am prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Rheumatology Foundation at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
