Bob was born on Oct 15, 1927 in Shelbyville, Kentucky. He was the son of Chalmer Bert and Mary Ann (Middelton) Caudill. He graduated from the University of Miami and was an avid supporter of the Hurricanes. Bob started his professional career in sales with Continental Can in Ft Smith, AR and Atlanta, GA, and later with Bassick-Sack in Winston-Salem. Bob also started a successful manufacturer’s representative business serving the furniture industry.
Mr Caudill proudly served his country in the Korean War, and he retired from the Army Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was an active member of Highland Presbyterian Church in Winston-Salem, NC. Bob also enjoyed sailing on Lake Norman and was a member of the Power Squadrons boating club.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Virginia Ann Warren, and by his loving wife of 51 years Elizabeth Hawkins Caudill. He is lovingly remembered by his family: Brother Chalmer Caudill, Jr. (Diane), son Rob Caudill (Helene), daughter Mary Ann Placey (Drew), son Jim (Caroline), his grandchildren Brian, Emily, Sean (Caroline), Matthew, great grandson Jackson and several nieces and nephews.
A Life Celebration for Bob will be held at Highland Presbyterian Church on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 1:00 PM, 2380 Cloverdale Ave NW, Winston-Salem. The visitation and funeral service will be held at Shannon’s Funeral Home on Monday, November 15, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, 1124 Main Street, Shelbyville, KY, interment immediately following at Grove Hill Cemetery.
