Cheryl, Angie, Tim, Pam, Lindsey and Jo Ann:  I just read about Bob's passing and my heart is touched with the most profound grieving.  I wept when I saw his photo in the obituary and I wept thinking of how lonely you must be without him.  Bob was the most extraordinary of men!  He opened his heart and home to me when I was no more than a rather-odd stranger, and his support and love was unwavering from that first meeting forward.  He remains in my memory without the slightest diminution and continues there fresh and funny and always spirited and always considerate.  He was humble.  And kind.  And forever warm and faultlessly generous; the simple depth of his compassion to this day provides me with the most extraordinary direction at the most surprising times.  There is a generosity of spirit that goes beyond mere selflessness, that becomes a prayer for the betterment of each one of us, and Bob sent this prayer to everyone he met, to his very best friends, to his most casual acquaintances, to his loving children, to his wonderful wife.  Please pardon me if my message has brought you a measure of sorrow.  I mean only to remember this kind and gentle man who touched me like a father, and like a very best friend, and like someone I had known forever. I knew Bob from my days at Piedmont and US Airways. He was a fine gentleman who will be missed by those who knew and loved him. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult and sad time.
