Mildred Shouse West, 87, of Winston-Salem passed away July 10, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Aubrey West and her parents Joe E. and Dorotha Hanes Shouse. Her immediate survivors are her daughter Dianne Marsden and husband Keith of Pinnacle; granddaughter Gretchen Marsden of Winston-Salem; and grandson Jesse Marsden and fiancée Brittany West of Bethesda, MD. She graduated valedictorian from Mineral Springs High School, and retired as a group supervisor at Wachovia Bank and Trust. She was a member of the former Ogburn Memorial United Methodist Church, and is currently a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. She was a volunteer at the Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina, and a member of the North Forsyth Civic Club. Mildred was an accomplished soprano soloist and sang in the church choir and for many weddings and special events in the community. Friends may visit on Thursday, July 12, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Frank Vogler & Sons Reynolda Road Chapel where a funeral service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Anne Elmore officiating. Entombment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park.
