She was born on September 4, 1938 to Ralph and Mildred Mitchell. Peggy was a special needs teacher in Winston Salem. She was a member of Breakthrough Church in Spartanburg when she lived there. Peggy was a member of Winston Salem First, participating in the choir and church productions.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dean Forrest Baugher; and cousin, Lee Keel. She leaves behind her children, Forrest (Karen) Baugher and Lesley Birbick; her grandchildren, Caleb Baugher, Zachary Baugher, and Alexander Birbick; friend of 67 years, Sandra McKinney; and many loved ones and friends.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Forsyth Medical Center and Brookdale Winston-Salem for their kindness and compassion.
A funeral service will be held in Winston Salem on Friday, January 19th at noon in the prayer room at Winston Salem First, 3730 University Pkwy, with Pastor Elwood Rakes officiating. The family will receive friends for a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held in Spartanburg on Saturday, January 20th at 2:30pm at Breakthrough Church, 235 E Blackstock Rd, with Pastor Mike Nelson officiating.
