Luther C. Landreth, 86, of Clemmons died peacefully with his family at his side on September 1, 2011. He was born in Forsyth County on August 27, 1925 to Luther C. and Lessie Snow Landreth. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother Dewie Landreth; five sisters; one brother; and son-in-law Gary Peacock. His immediate survivors are his wife Frances; daughters Patricia Peacock, Diane Jarvis and husband Jon, sons, Ron Landreth and wife Susan, Ric Landreth and wife Darla; grandchildren Todd Peacock, Eric Peacock, Lisa Kennedy, Mark Jarvis, Rainy Chewning, Rodney Landreth, Lindsey Landreth; 13 great-grandchildren; and brother Bill Landreth. He was a member of Clemmons First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and worked in the Mission Field. He enjoyed playing his harmonica and gardening, and in his younger years he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He had a zest for life which he shared with his family and friends. Friends may visit on Saturday, September 3, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Frank Vogler & Sons Clemmons Chapel. His funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Clemmons First Baptist Church with Pastor Eric Peacock, Dr. Robby Phillips, and Rev. Claxton Hall officiating. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.
