Linda Ann Livingston-Patterson, 69, of Winston-Salem went to be with our Lord on Sunday, April 30, 2017, after a battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully in the home surrounded by her family. She was born in Forsyth County to Lloyd Gwyn Livingston and Ina Mae Norman-Livingston. She was the first of three siblings, and was a caring wife, mother, and Nana. She was of the Baptist faith. She volunteered by representing her neighborhood and gathering donations for the March of Dimes and other philanthropic organizations. She was constantly thinking of others and giving to others.
She graduated in 1965 from James A. Gray High School in Winston-Salem, and was employed at Butler’s shoe store in downtown Winston-Salem while in high school. She was also employed in the mid-1960s by Western Electric Company and later by BellSouth in Winston-Salem. She left BellSouth in 1995 to care for her grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling and participated in bowling leagues for several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her loving and devoted husband, Ronnie Lee Patterson of Winston-Salem; two daughters, Robin Leigh Patterson-Ball (Dean) of Advance, NC, and Lori Ann Patterson of East Bend, NC; a grandson, Ryan Patterson Ball and a granddaughter, Riley Katherine Ball, both of Advance, NC; two sisters, Lorene Livingston-Hodges, and Shirley Livingston-Hale (Eddie, Sr.), both of Winston-Salem; a special aunt, Arlene Marsh, of Boonville, NC; a special brother-in-law, William Alvino ‘Al’ Patterson, of Winston-Salem; a sister-in-law, Nancy Letner-Coleman (Cliff) of Rapid City, SD; and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces. She is also survived by many special friends, and a very special friend, with whom she grew up and who was much like a sister, Carol Jean Harrison-Madison of Greensboro, NC.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM on Thursday, May 4, at Frank Vogler & Sons on Reynolda Road in Winston-Salem. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at the funeral home at 1:00 PM with Reverend Robert Garrett officiating. The interment will immediately follow the service at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Winston-Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in the name of Linda Patterson to Fork Baptist Church, 3140 US Highway 64 E, Mocksville, NC 27028. Active pallbearers for Mrs. Patterson will be Frank Brendle, Eddie ‘Butch’ Hale, Jr., Larry Hodges, Lee McKnight, Todd Patterson, and Gray Pinnix.
