LEWISVILLE - Katherine Marie Wilkinson Wagner, 83, died and went to be with the Lord and Savior Wednesday morning, May 19, 2010 after a brief battle with cancer, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born September 19, 1926 in Fieldale, VA to the late James Burton and Martha Sue Wilkinson. Upon graduation from high school, she attended nursing school at NC Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem where she worked as a registered nurse upon graduation.
Mrs. Wagner is survived by her husband of sixty three years Richard F. Wagner of the home; one daughter Kathy Wagner Guthrie of Emerald Isle, NC; one son Richard F. Wagner Jr and his wife Shirley; two grandsons Nathan and Matthew Wagner of Pfafftown; two sisters Rebecca (Becky) Wilkinson Joyce of Collinsville, VA and Virginia "Tootsie" Wilkinson Cockrell of Greensboro. Mrs. Wagner leaves a legacy of caring for others, especially her family.
A funeral service, celebrating her life, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 22, at the Lewisville United Methodist Church, 6290 Shallowford Road, Lewisville (336-945-3203), with Pastor Keith Bingham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends will visit after the graveside service.
