She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. to Nelson and Leona Stilz on June 16, 1926. June was a professional dancer, and then later a nurse. After retirement, she volunteered in the cardiac care unit at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for more than 25 years. June loved plants, birds, and making seasonal wreathes for her loved ones.
June is preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Robert Cash. She leaves behind her loving husband of 40 years, Vernon Cooper; her dog, Princess Sabrina; her children, Cherie (Malcolm) Dunk, Brad (Kathleen) Cooper, and Cheryl (Matthew) McLean; her grandchildren, Ryan (Georgette) Cash and Meghan Dunk; and her great-grandchildren, Jessica and Amber Cash.
A visitation will be Friday, Sept. 29th from 6-8 p.m. at Vogler & Sons Funeral Home, 2951 Reynolda Road. The service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Highland Presbyterian Church, 2380 Cloverdale Ave, with Pastor Randy Harris officiating.
