June Edwards Bell

June was born on July 8, 1924, in Hillsville, VA, a daughter to the late Levi and Elizabeth Edwards. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter in law Judy C. Bell. June married the love of her life, John Cater Bell, Sr. on October 2, 1947. She was an active member of College Park Baptist Church and joyfully served in the nursery and Vacation Bible School for the children. She was the owner and operator of a child day care. June was a wonderful seamstress, great cook, and enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She loved all genres of music especially piano, art, and decorating. Most of all, her children and her family were her heart. June always encouraged and supported the dreams and goals of her family and to succeed no matter how hard it was. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, John Cater Bell, Sr. of the home; three children, John C. Bell, Jr. of Lewisville, Shirley B. Moser of Winston-Salem, and Ronnie L. Bell and his wife, Margret of Winston-Salem; two grandsons, Johnny L. Moser and Erich Bell; one step grandson, Jerry Greene and two great grandsons.

A funeral service will be held 2 PM, Thursday, January 2nd in the Chapel of Frank Vogler and Sons Funeral Home, Reynolda Road, with Rev. Raymond Smith of College Park Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2 PM, Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
