Joseph Benjamin "Ben" Plitt Sr.

He was born September 25, 1939 in Charleston, WV a son of Joe and Fern Williams Plitt.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Plitt of Clemmons; two sons, Joseph (Chin Chin) Plitt Jr. of Winston-Salem, Randy Plitt of Mt. Airy; two grandsons, Lucas Plitt and Gabriel Plitt; brother and sister-in-law, Charles (Martha Jo) Plitt of Winston Salem; a special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janis (John) Garner of Clemmons; several nephews and one niece.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Ben graduated RJ Reynolds High School and attended Wilson College. He was a former member of Lions Club in Winston-Salem. He was a member of Clemmons Moravian Church.

Ben was the owner and operator of Plitt Travel Inc. in Winston-Salem which he started in 1977 and retired in 2001.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Clemmons Moravian Church in Clemmons. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial of ashes will be in God’s Acre.
