She was born in Harrisburg Pennsylvania, and moved to NC with her parents Betty and Paul Sills, graduating from R J Reynolds HS in 1964. She worked for Hanes Hosiery for a time, also several restaurants in the WS area, and was a substitute teacher for the WSFCS for several years. She also was a homemaker, and attended the United Methodist Church and Moravian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Betty Sills, and her husband, John R. Cline
She was mother to 4 children. Christine (Fansler) Marshall ( Wayne Kindley), Donovan H. Fansler, David Pierce (Lisa Pierce), and Stephen Pierce (Amy Pierce). She was blessed with 9 grandchildren. Also, she was an indelible surrogate mother to a plethora of other children in and around the area, either by association with her children, or friends. Her home was always open for food, fun, support, acceptance or a hideout. Her children follow in this same mission.
The family has chosen to celebrate her life at a later date. They want to thank all those who have supported them in this time, and thanks to the staff and facilities of Novant Forsyth Medical Center, Kate B Reynolds home of Trellis Supportive Care of Winston Salem and Frank Vogler and Sons of Clemmons for their time, compassion, expertise and talents.
