Janice Settle

Janice Fearrington Settle, 71 passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, June 12. She was born November 27, 1943 in Winston-Salem, NC to James Arville Fearrington and Elinor Frances Fearrington Messick. Jan was retired from the Roanoke Valley Association of Realtors. She is survived by her son, Robert Reddick; her grandson William Hogan; her brother Steve Fearrington and her sister Cathy Fearrington Sumners.

Beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend; Jan touched countless people throughout her life. She had a playful, fun-loving nature and was generous and outgoing. A few minutes with her could turn a complete stranger into a good friend.

Jan’s love of books and music energized her and constantly expanded her heart and mind. The sight of a rainbow always brought on that special smile which would light up a room. She spent much of her life in the study of spirituality and religions. Her physical presence will be greatly missed but we know her spirit is still watching over us.

A Celebration of Jan’s Life will be held at 2:00pm on July 18 at the Unity Church, 108 Hewes St., Winston-Salem, NC. Friends and family will have an opportunity to share memories during the service. Visitation with family and friends will follow immediately after the service.
