Mr. James Allen Wall of Tobaccoville passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2014. Mr. Wall was born December 28, 1919, in Forsyth County to Jesse Allen Wall and Talitha Jefferson Wall. Mr. Wall graduated from Guilford College, where he met his wife Frances Lloyd. They were married August 5, 1942, by Dr. Clyde Milner, the President of Guilford College. Mr. Wall was a World War II veteran in the United States Air Force completing 35 missions as a navigator on B-17 bombers. In 1947, he founded Sunnyside Ice and Fuel, which today services individuals, stores, and companies in the Piedmont. Mr. Wall was a dedicated, longtime member at Reynolda Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder for many years.
Mr. Wall was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who rejoiced in the lives and activities of his family. Mr. Wall is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Frances Lloyd Wall. His children are son James Allen Wall, Jr. and his wife Judy Wall, daughter Susan Wall Trotter and her husband Joe Trotter, and daughter Jane Wall Humphrey and her husband Faron Humphrey. His grandchildren are Lindley Wall, Amy Humphrey Gusefski and her husband Michael Gusefski, Jennifer Trotter Nenadic and her husband Boris Nenadic, Melinie Humphrey Hicks and her husband Ben Hicks, Jonathan Trotter, Kimberly Humphrey, Jimmy Humphrey and his wife Helen Marie Humphrey, and Laurie Humphrey. Great grandchildren are Micah and Luke Gusefski and Malachi, Phoebe, and Joanna Hicks.
The family will receive friends and extended family Friday, October 24, from 6:00-8:00pm at Voglers and Sons, 2951 Reynolda Road, Winston-Salem. A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 25, at 2pm at Reynolda Presbyterian Church, 2200 Reynolda Road, Winston-Salem. The graveside service will immediately follow the funeral at 3:30pm at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, 6816 Doral Drive, Tobaccoville.
