Mrs. Jacquelyn “Jackie” Sheets Harrell, 87, 152 Homestead Hills Circle, Winston Salem passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mrs Harrell was born January 9,1937 in Forsyth County, the daughter of Melvin Gaither and Anna Mildred Ferguson Sheets. She was an active member of Lewisville United Methodist Church (LUMC) helped facilitate volunteer transportation for individuals in need as well as coordinated numerous Blood Drives through the March of Dimes.
Mrs. Harrell graduated RJ Reynolds High School in 1955 where she was a majorette. She graduated nursing school at Charlotte Memorial in 1959 and later completed the nursing supervisory course in 1990. Mrs.Harrell received “Employee of the Year” - Yadkinville County Home Health and Hospice Agency 1992 and received “Outstanding and dedicated service to citizens of Yadkin county” 1988 to 2002. She retired at Yadkinville County Home Health and Hospice.
Mrs. Harrell loved her family and friends, Church, vacations at the beach and fishing, spending time with family during the holidays and her dogs. Mrs. Harrell is preceded in death by her spouse, Ollie C. Harrell and her parents. She is survived by her son, Kent Harrison Harrell and wife, Kimberly of Winston-Salem; a daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Harrell, and husband, Frank Shier, and their children, Christian M. Shier, Edwin M. Barton, and Danielle L. Barton, of Chester, VA; two brothers; Jerry O. Sheets of Lewisville, NC and Melvin Gregg Sheets of West Jefferson, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, August 10 at Lewisville United Methodist Church.
