Horace "Huck" Corey Booz III

Huck was born in Salem, NJ to the late Horace Corey Booz, II and Anna Kurys Booz. He graduated from Woodstown High School and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree from Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science. Huck worked in the textile industry for over 25 years at Guilford Mills, retiring as the Vice President of Global Manufacturing. He continued working after retirement starting his own textile consulting company, Booz Textiles, LLC and coached his grandson’s high school golf team.

Huck proudly served his country in the United States Air Force Reserves. He was stationed at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware. He continued giving to the community throughout his life. He served as a Jaycee in his early adult years, was a member of the Elks Lodge in Winston-Salem, NC, and served as the Lamb Director for the Knights of Columbus, Council 9499 of Clemmons, NC.

In his spare time, Huck loved playing golf, playing chess, and gardening. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan, and loved watching every game, cheering on his teams. But Huck’s favorite time was spent with his family.

Huck leaves behind his wife of 56 years, JoAnn Booz; daughters, Lori Booz Patterson and her husband Brian of Pfafftown, NC, Tracy Booz Letts and her husband Paul of Wilmington, NC, and Stephanie Booz Norris and her husband Ryan of Rocky Point, NC; grandchildren, Brittany Williams, Cory Norris, Riley Norris, Jenna Patterson, and Ellie Grace Patterson; brother, Steven Booz; and many other loved ones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Booz.

A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, May 2nd at 11am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4820 Kinnamon Road, Clemmons, NC. Family will receive guests at a reception immediately following mass in the Family Center at Holy Family.

Interment of Ashes will be held Friday, May 10th at 4:00pm at Riverview Cemetery, 9350 US-117, Willard, NC.
