She was born December 15, 1981 in Charlotte, NC, the daughter of Don and Beverly Sanford. Courtney graduated from West Forsyth High School, attended Western Carolina University, and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She also earned degrees at Keiser University and Independence University. Courtney was presently employed by Maxim Health care Services.
Courtney is survived by her parents; maternal grandmother, Anita P. Shaw; two brothers, Zachary Sanford and his wife, Meghan of Charlotte and Dr. Alex Sanford and his wife, heather of Ft. Mill, SC; her beloved nephews, Jacob and Carson Sanford, and her special Patterson, her Westie. Also celebrating her life are aunts and uncles, James B. and Vicky Shaw of Raleigh, NC, Steven M. and Lynn Shaw of Charlotte, Kenneth B. and Regina Shaw of Goose Creek, SC, Ellen and Marcel Cuylen of Waxhaw, NC, William A and Beverly Sanford of Sunset Beach, NC and Many cousins and friends. She was predeceased by grandparents James B. Shaw, Sr. and William A. and Lucille Sanford.
A celebration of life will be held 2PM, Tuesday, April 29th, at Clemmons Presbyterian Church with Rev./Dr. William Hoyle and Rev. Jay Banasiak officiating. The family will greet friends in the Fellowship Hall after the service. The family will also receive friends celebrating Courtney’s life Monday, April 28th from 6 until 8 PM at her parent’s home, 2795 Gray Moss Drive, Clemmons, NC, 27012.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of Clemmons Presbyterian Church, 3930 Clemmons Road, Clemmons, NC 27012 or to the charity of one’s choice.
