Carol Ann McLester Schachtschneider

She was born on August 26, 1949, in Iredell County to the late Annie Lee (Smith) and Clarence McLester. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Jackie, Jerry, John, Tommy, and Sidney McLester.

She leaves behind her husband, Erich Schachtschneider, and two daughters: Khristin Schachtschneider (Kyle Covey) and Heidi Schachtschneider (Gareth Williams). She also leaves behind an extended family and many, many friends.

Carol was a wonderful mother—so easy-going, funny, warm, and creative. She loved all holidays but Christmas was her special favorite. She liked to sew and craft. She loved animals, especially her Pomeranians.

Carol was always up for adventure and loved to travel, especially on cruises. She visited more than 20 countries.

Carol was employed for many years for Medcost. She worked her way up the ladder and retired as Director of Human Resources.

In recent years, she spent more time with her church, Clemmons Baptist, especially with her prayer group, the Praying Sisters. She loved the Lord.
