C. Wayne Dobson

Caleb Wayne Dobson, born November 5th, 1946 in Laurel MS, and longtime resident of Mobile, AL passed away at home on December 13th, 2023 in Clemmons, NC. He is survived by his wife Patricia, son Sean and wife Allison Dobson, and daughter Michelle and husband David Mallamud. He has four grandsons Jacob and Liam Dobson of Raleigh, NC, and Evan and Brendan Mallamud of Katonah, NY. He is also survived by his brother Richard and his wife Anna of Gray, GA. Wayne Dobson was preceded in death by his parents Ollie and Andrew Dobson of Mobile, Alabama.

Wayne Dobson graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor's of Electrical Engineering in 1969. He was a graduate of the University of South Alabama with a Masters in Business Administration in 1980. He worked at International Paper Company for 36 years upon completion of his engineering degree. During this career he was involved with projects in South Korea and New Zealand.

Wayne was an avid golfer and enjoyed Saturdays with his golf buddies. His friends were very important to him and he maintained many friendships from childhood until his death. When it became hard for him to leave the house due to his illness, he especially enjoyed having long conversations with his childhood and work friends by phone - this brought him great comfort.

Wayne and Patricia recently celebrated 56 years of marriage. After retirement he loved traveling with his wife, brother, and sister-in-law. He made sure his children and grandchildren came together for a family vacation annually. He was a dependable, loving father figure who taught his children the value of hard work, commitment, and thinking for yourself. His insight and wisdom will greatly be missed.

There will be a ceremony at 4pm December 21st at Centenary United Methodist Church at 5280 Hampton Rd, Clemmons, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for individuals who would like to make donations in Wayne's memory to :

St. Jude Children's Hospital or Mountain Valley Hospice.
