Mrs. Arline Monday Brown, 98 of Winston Salem passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Arbor Acers in Winston Salem. She was born in Carroll County on November 9, 1916 to the late Robert Seymour and Lovenia Leftwich Monday. Mrs. Brown had lived at Arbor Acres for 10 years and had many friends there. Mrs. Brown was also a lifelong member of Centenary Methodist Church. She was a docent at Reynolda Manor. Mrs. Brown also sold antiques at her shop in Reynolda Village. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest W. Brown; her son Robert “Barry” Brown; and her sisters, Annie M. Smith and Olive M. Riggs; and brother, Robert C. Monday. She is survived by her nephews, Roger W. Riggs II (Muriel); Richard D. Riggs (Debbie); her nieces Carolyn L. Smith; Barbara S. Harbour (Henry); and several great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 6 at 10 a.m. (Vogler on Reynolda Road) with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m., burial to follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Centenary Methodist Church.
