Anne Bowman Matty Mayfield

She was preceded in death by the love of her life Anton “Tony” J. Matty and other husband, Jerome “Jerry” T. Mayfield, S.F.C. retired. She was always proud of being an Army wife.

She is now happily joining her precious children, Valerie Matty Chandler and James “Jim” Alexander Matty in Heaven.

Anne was a 1953 graduate of RJ Reynolds High School, Draughns Business College, and Wake Forest University. She was retired from AT&T where she had met Tony. Anne was hurt on the job at AT&T so she enjoyed volunteering: Meals on Wheels, Sebastian Food Kitchen, Contact, Crisis Control, and her favorite. V.A.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, where her funeral will be held on Friday, November 9th at 10am. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Anne requested that in her remembrance that friends do a good deed for a stranger.
