I remember Bill at our engagement, he loved the East end party and the roll mops. He even took some home. He was a lovely man qnd made Maggie very happy.

I am so sorry to hear this; may his dear soul rest in peace. Take comfort he had many special moments recently that he is treasuring. Take care and many hugs your way.

I met Bill several years ago through my Mother's friend and Bill's lovely wife, Margaret. My mother and I would meet with Bill and Margaret for coffee at Panera or Starbucks or have lunch or tea together. Bill would share so many very interesting, amazing and down right intriguing stories of some of the experiences of his life. These included some from his fascinating work with NASA on our space program in it's fledgling days as well as some of his adventures in his early life and his times in our common alma-mater the US Navy SeaBees. I thoroughly enjoyed my times talking with Bill and he will be sorely missed. My thoughts are truly with you, Bills family, and other friends, who, as I have, have lost a genuinely amazing man.

We are very appreciative of you taking care of Grandpa and always being there for him for all these years. Our hearts are so full knowing how much you loved him.

“Big Bill”, the name many of his family members  called him, will be greatly missed. I knew him for over 40 years as my father-in-law and most importantly as the grandfather for my two children. Bill and I liked to discuss tax strategies and financial investments. He tutored both of my children in college math via Skype when they were in college (yes, they did well with his help).  He made a point of keeping up with the family and our lives with phone calls.  He lived a good life! 

Dear Grandpa,

We are so happy we came to visit and celebrate your 100th birthday with you. Blake has lots of wonderful photos of the two of you to enjoy in the years to come. What a legacy you are leaving behind with the many lives you touched during your 100 years. You are so loved.

Wendy celebrating Uncle Wolfie's 100th birthday. He is wearing his Navy Seabees hat. He served as a Seabee in the Pacific combat theater during WWII, establishing airfields in the  tropical jungles on small islands (that had been invaded and occupied by Japanese forces) so that American forces and allies could move crucial supplies across a vast area and eventually prevail in the conflict. 75 years later his niece Wendy served in Papua New Guinea as a U.S. diplomat, in the same country where her uncle had served in WWII.

Sending you hugs and sympathy. You have been such a kind, caring, and capable aunt and friend to me over these years and I appreciate all the many ways you made life nicer and sweeter for Bill and everyone.
